Ever got stuck in the difference between working hard and working smart? Well, I got you. Before I started my job as an online influencer and social media marketer, I always heard stories that bloggers make money without necessarily leaving their bedroom! How? Perhaps for that reason, am here, seated in front of my mac to share something with you.
In this post, I am going to outline top 6 legit ways to make money online from home, without even struggling to look for clients and without breaking the law.
1. Make money through YouTube
Powered by Google, YouTube is one of the largest video hosting platforms in the world, with its headquarters in San Bruno-California.
With millions of videos uploaded to YouTube every second, the network has created a great job opportunity for the creators. In case you have been banned from AdSense or cannot access the service for any reason, don’t worry! It’s not the end of the world. You can check out this post on how I made my first Ksh. 10,000 from YouTube without Adsense.
So, in order to start earning from your videos, you need to create an AdSense account. AdSense is also powered by Google, and is a platform for you to accrue earnings whenever somebody clicks on ads while watching your videos.
2. Affiliate marketing
Did you know you can also make money from home through affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing has become one of the most common ways of making money online today. If you have a blog about a certain topic, you can write a very interesting post about a particular product and include a recommendation link to the seller’s website. If your readers click on the link and make a purchase, you will earn an affiliate commission.
In order to start affiliate marketing, you don’t necessarily have to own a website or a blog. You can share the links in the description of your YouTube videos and if you still don’t have YouTube channels, you can do that through your social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Am conducting a research and will share a post about some of the top affiliate marketing sites for you to try.
3. Google AdSense
I have previously shared a post on how to prepare your website for Google AdSense approval and if you were lucky enough to get past rejection, am going to teach you how to get the most out of your ‘hard work’. However, if for any reason you have been rejected or banned from Google AdSense, it’s not over yet. There are various alternatives to Google AdSense that you can still use to make money online like a pro.
I mentioned YouTube in number one above, but if you have no YouTube account, or you don’t like videos, you can embed AdSense ads in your website and if your content is interesting enough to attract a large number of readers to your blog, then thank me later.
4. Online tutorials
If you have a skill, use it to your advantage. If you can pay somebody to teach you something, you reserve all the rights to ask for payment to offer training online. For example, I am skilled in WordPress. A web development school once hired me to discuss with their students on development of themes and plugins. I was on my webcam for 3 hours, and on top of what I was paid on that day, the video is still on YouTube, teaching the world and earning more income through AdSense as I focus on other things. Wake up!
5. Sell social media accounts
On top of creating websites or blogs and selling them, I realized how beneficial it would be if I created a twitter or Facebook account/page/group. After driving and creating a huge audience, I could then sell it at a big profit. In 2015, I sold a twitter account with 1.2million followers at USD 500. However, this practice is not allowed by twitter, but as I said earlier, the idea here is not working hard, but working smart, as long as you don’t get caught. Otherwise the account will be deleted. I have some legit ways on how to get thousands of followers/likes/subscribers without struggle, but I am going to share that in my next post.
6. Business listing
Start a business listing website as a form of advertising. While people will pay you to list their businesses on your website, you would still embed ads that generate extra income when site visitors click on them. I am going to share the various types of third party ads suitable for a business listing website in my next post.
