Kisii is really rising: Top 10 musicians from Gusii

Music from Kisii is really rising. Many new talented artistes have emerged in the industry, promising to take kisii flow to the next level. Some of the popular hits in Kenya are known to be produced by these Rappers e.g the hit Obe Baba by Raj, whose popularity exploded following the remix he did with STL.

We have compiled a list of top ten musicians, and who we feel deserve our credit. However, there may be others, but we are just listing those we know as of today.

1.Smallz lethal

He goes by the name of  Jim Nyakundi, a hip hop singer, among the many who have really done a good job in not only Kisii, but also in the Kenyan music industry in general. He currently has his one album called  Mogaka Music. He directs a Hiphop hookup show, which is held every month in Sarakasi Dome.

2.Rajville

Raj is a well known Hip Hop rapper who comes from Ndizi City. His popular Kisii phrase (Omwana ogochanda ense mpaka ebinyoro) in one of his songs makes one want to listen to it even more. He has shown a lot of passion in his music and it’s perhaps the reason behind his great achievements in the entertainment industry.  He is said to own MUSIC BANK STUDIOS, and sources say that he produces his own music.

3. Miggy Mc

His real name is Migisi Omari. He has done many tracks including  Ligi kubwa, matendechere, Nyaunyo, and  jidai. Apart from music he is said to be an MC in several events, hence the name MC Miggy

4. King Menace

 Dennis Manduku, aka King Menace, is a new guy in the industry. He’s a DJ, MC and actor. He was previously a student leader in charge of entertainment while at Kisii University. His song  Pesa, which he did as a refix of Fester skank, made him receive a huge shoutout from Lethal Bizzle which made him very popular.

5. Falenzy usher

This gospel singer, currently signed in to Nairobi records has done well in the industry to a point of competing with top musicians like Willy Paul. Sources say that this guy is also a pastor.

6. Kamtu Flani

His name is Robert M. He started singing since school days in Rigoma Secondary and Mong’oni High.  He has done many singles like Nikifa, Kwenye giza,  Mbono ngocha, Mama , Aibu gani, and Wivu wako among others. He is a cartoonist and lyricist.

7.Lilsliq

His name is Eric Mainya, a really multi talented singer from Kisii. He sings Ghipuka music, currently signed to Grandpa records. His song  Nataka dem, produced by Visita (Grandpa records) is doing well in many media houses in The country. He was featured in the song   fimbo ya tatu, alongside Sautisol, Wyre, Kenrazy and V-sita.

8. Neimer king

Eldon Mandela, aka Neimer king, is a rapper with a great hope in music. He does many genres of music and his versatility has earned him a lot of fans.

9. Shourtie

This young lady Sarah Moraa, aka Shourtie has received a lot of support from many fans and several radio stations, following his nice work in the industry. His first Video  Genda, has proved determination in her work.

10. JT Legend

Geoffrey Mokua aka JT Legend is also a new dude in the industry. He was featured in  (Mbono ngocha), by Kamtuflani and he is his really on top of his game.
